The Heroine’s Journey: Finding Grace in the Trigger
Mar 08, 2026
We often think of healing as a linear path – a steady climb toward peace and light. But the reality of the "Heroine’s Journey" is much more revealing. It is less of a ladder and more of a deep dive into the parts of ourselves we’ve long tried to hide.
When we look back at our "pre–cancer" or "pre–crisis" selves, we often find a person who learned early on that it wasn’t safe to be fully seen. Those childhood moments of abandonment or judgment created layers of protection – stories we carry into adulthood and project onto the world around us.
Healing, then, is an act of unravelling. It is about meeting every "little version" of yourself throughout the years and welcoming them back with breath and compassion. When someone triggers us, it isn't just an annoyance; it is a sacred opportunity. It is a moment to notice the reaction within and choose presence over reactivity. By moving from the separated ego to a higher light, we find the power to set ourselves – and others – free through the simple, radical act of forgiveness.
Take a Moment to Reflect:
-
Where in your life are you pointing fingers?
-
Are you willing to ask for a higher way of seeing that pain?
-
Can you meet your triggers with love instead of resistance?
In Episode 11 of my podcast, I share more about this journey of meeting our triggers with grace. You can listen to the full story here:
